Healthcare trickling in changes

The human body, diseases and disabilities has always left me pondering. I witnessed this man at a private hospital who's lower half of the body was completely in a vegetative state. The whole span of time I was at this vast institutions, my thoughts were marred by intervening thoughts. My astonishment- the fee charged by such a large institution for all the out patients was a meager Rs 20. The hospital does provide all the facilities any top notch hospital in the west would provide. The sheer number of patients at the hospital was a testimonial to the cost effectiveness of the facility. We've come a long way in health care and can beat any western countries on all medical challenges. The rural health care is still in infancy but these are repercussions of people incubated problems than the government policies. The rural population also does not appreciate a enthusiastic doctor. He most of the times draws flack for being caring. At home health care institutions have created a niche for themselves. They have created a biz system where the needy are served and still stay profitable. Doesn't that a commendable feat ? The Indian health care system's pinnacle would be the day when Narayana Hrudayalaya starts service on the American soil. The time is ripe for Indian government to encourage research in the field of medical electronics and a national grid systems. It would be boon the day when a mammoth sonic scan device is replaced by a hand held device, connected via telecommunication network to the national backbone. This sure will put the rural health care on a sledge of needed reforms. Of all these changes, will the doctor get a better paycheck than a fresh graduate at a sundry call center. Apathy indeed !!
