Call 101

We all would have seen the three digit emergency services number viz 100,101 and 102 at all local telephone booths. Ever wondered how effective these emergency services are ? Are the people behind the staunch emergency system really alert, equipped with the right sense of problem solving and dedication ? Will calling 101 or any other emergency services save lives ?

Lets take a scenario- ISRO sounds a warning to the governments home ministry informing about a disaster, better known as a solar storm. How would the home ministry react to this ?
This storm has no date of arrival and no scope of predicting the extent of damage it can do on mankind. So how do you think that our emergency system will respond to ?
To add to our woes, our infrastructure is still primitive, egging for some renewal from our busy go easy babus. Will a poor infrastructure and a negligent system in place, what would happen when such a lethal solar storm swamps our city ?
Yeah ! this is not a dream of mine- this is reality lurking around the corner. This solar storm would leave a damage that would take days, months or years for the life of the common man to be back on regular routine. Its time : need a equipped emergency services !
