What would be a honest opinion ?

This day; as i was browsing the web , i came across one of a small passages that illustrates like this - i might get some wordings wrong here; reader discretion is requested to make the right meaning out of it.
i quote " the UN has asked its member states whether they are serious about the food crisis ? The latest survey as done by the UN shows that - Africa doesn't know what food was and Asians didn't know what honest meant. In Europe they didn't know what shortage meant,The Middle east didn't know what solution meant and in South America they didn't know what please meant. And in North America they didn't know what the rest of the world meant...
As i read this, i was bewildered by the fact this survey had any consequences or not. But it did mean a lot. It hit the nail on the head. What the survey spoke about is in reality; a true fact and the rest of the world; our fellow inhabitants are ... ignorant, do i say that? or they are too comfy in their own beliefs.
In the last weeks editorial; a report brought forth the reality of how some communities are dwelling on eating clay cakes as staple food; same time, here back in Yeshwanthpur, tomatoes were strewn on the streets as a protest. Isn't the contrast a stark reality of what our world is about ?
G8 met and the outsiders to G8, what do we call them G5, comprising of the emerging markets, India, Brazil and so on . The G8 is pressing for a cleaner and pollution free environment from the emerging markets. But on their part; they will not do anything. They simply put want to demonstrate their superiority and say "we save the world " .
There is a huge economical crisis looming large on the world. Who will do their bit to solve this ? the developed nations or the VETO nations cannot do anything. The emerging markets are booming and it is suffocating them. They simply want to pass on the ball.
Its more like we doing our bit and the rest will fall in place ? do we belive we can ...
