The days of professional college were a different aura of life for me. The other professional colleges in the rank of top 10 engineering colleges had this tag of being a hip-hop and a happening place. When i made a conscious decision to join UVCE, i knew what i was getting into. The whole of college life was modest and the surrounding was truly education friendly. No brats from the management quota and from the payment seat . It was a humble days and it was great insight into what life is ; we didn't realize it then, but now when i look back, i do !
Next, came my way , campus placements. We all were excited about landing a plum job. We all managed to get too. Then life took a turn again as a curve in a wine bottle. The days in college used to have the best hang outs. Added advantage for us was that our college was in the famous "majestic" of Bangalore. The fun ; foot board borne I and my friend would keep a look out at all the cinema halls as to which has a lesser jobless people for the tickets and at the next juncture when the bus would slow down, we both would have landed and rushed to the queue for a wonderful Kannada movie. Sometimes, after entering we used get the rude shock of just we being the lone audience for the show. BVK cross roads were our usual shopping streets; we never got to know what all ghettos we had visited.
What happened after we all landed a plum job ? it seems like a transformation something from a scifi movie. Our usual adda shifted to Inox and shopping to Shoppers shop or Westside. I never realized what i was missing until recently ; thanks to my dad who till date hasn't liked the ambiance at Inox. He feels claustrophobic. His favourite pick in Bangalore our very own "Kapali". A movie watching experience at kapali is different. While i was walking down some ghettos in Mamoolpet; i felt that spark in me that i used to nurture when i was in college. Then the usual black and white flash back.
always ; the spark in us lives in what we enjoy the most and not we portray as we enjoy ....
